Air Ambulance Provider of the Year Award
We are proud to announce that AMREF Flying Doctors were the winners of the 2011 prestigious International Air Ambulance Provider of the Year Award. This award is based on achievements and outstanding performances throughout the year, as well as overall development, expansion and future vision.
AMREF Flying Doctors were also the first non-European, non-US air rescue provider to receive an accreditation of “Special Care Status” by the European Aeromedical Institute (EURAMI) in 2007.
Phoenix Aviation and AMREF Flying Doctors – a leader in emergency medical services and, in particular, air medical patient transport – have a collaboration that extends back over a decade. Jointly, Phoenix Aviation and AMREF Flying Doctors were able to equip the Phoenix fleet with specialised modern aeromedical equipment, including FAA approved Lifeport stretcher systems, monitors, ventilators and a neonatal incubator allowing patients to receive intensive care whilst on the ground or in the air.
Phoenix Aviation’s extensive aircraft fleet supports and enables AMREF Flying Doctors to offer a professional 24 hour air ambulance service locally, as well as long range intercontinental transfers.
The recognition of this award to AMREF Flying Doctors demonstrates the value of the partnership with Phoenix Aviation, as they work together to provide patients with the best possible aeromedical care.
